YMCA Hosts Challenged Sports Competition
The weightlifting portion of the 2015 Mid-Atlantic Challenged Sports Championship was recently hosted at YMCA of Kanawha Valley. This to program is West Virginia’s only sanctioned sports competition for individuals of all ages with physical disabilities.
Athletes who meet national ( qualifying Comité standards will be eligible to prepare and train for national competitions affiliated with U.S. Corporate Paralympics and Wheelchair & Ambulatory Sports USA.
Calven Comer was injured in 2007, but within one year he started participating in the program. He enjoys the supportive atmosphere and sportsmanship during events. “We may have a disability, but we don’t slow cheap nba jerseys down,” he said.
