Designed for children entering Kindergarten in the Fall, Funshine Camp offers campers the opportunity to make new friends, try new activities, and gain self-confidence. This camp is operated by our amazing Pre-K team! Kindergarten readiness is incorporated into the weekly themes and activities which include arts & crafts, music, games, story time, water play, outdoor fun, and even a few local field trips.

Week 1: Treasure Hunt (June 1—June 4) Aye Matey! Get your bandanas and eye patches ready as we find clues, footprints and even treasure maps, as we try to keep up with all the lost treasures. Campers will also decorate a treasure chest and fill it with treasure – but will they be able to keep it away from the pirates?
Week 2: Buggin’ Out at Camp (June 7—June 11) Campers will become entomologists outfitted with magnifying glasses and clipboards as we go on a bug safari, gather information on bugs around us, discover what foods attract ants, how bees make honey, and watch caterpillars transform into butterflies.
Week 3: Bird Watching (June 14—June 18) Calling all kids to come and discover birds. We will take bird walks with our binoculars, document what we see with drawings and paint, create clay birds, build, and decorate bird feeders and bird houses, and attempting to build a bird nest.
Week 4: Splish, Splash, WV Water Bash (June 21– June 25) Celebrating WV’s birthday with a week of water. Join us as we compete in water races, flavor, and freeze water to make popsicles, create our own waterfall, spray paint with colored water, experiment with containing water, and get wet daily.
Week 5: Bears Alive! (June 28—July 2)Campers will put on a simple production of The Three Bears. Working together they will create or gather costumes & props, plan parts, remember lines, make invitations, and perform the play while enjoying bear food, moving like bears, and creating bear habitats.
Week 6: Detectives on Duty (July 5—July 9) Calling All Detectives to join in the mystery of the disappearance of Teddy the Bear. Detectives must work together to rescue Teddy and bring him back home by studying foot prints, dusting for finger prints, checking alibis, and following clues.
Week 7: Cooking Camp (July 12—July 16) This week is full of food. From recording the camper’s version of their favorite food recipe to preparing food for our lunch and snacks we will be food focused. We will taste different foods, and experiment with what other things we can do with food.
Week 8: Mario Cart Racing (July 19—July 23) Decorate your cars, make your props, choose your characters, and ready, set, go! We will play games, do obstacle courses, and race while driving our Mario carts.
Week 9: Camp Challenge (July 26-July 30) Daily challenges await the campers individually and as teams. Life size tic tac toe, hungry hippo comes alive, tower building, and precision ball throwing to turn on a light will keep the campers on target all week.
Week 10: Movin’ On Up (August 2—August 6)Campers move up to the school age camp to adjust to the counselors, rooms, and routine before the first day of school.
